Set up by NASA it gives you the scoop on each biome ranging from animals that live in the community to the plants that survive in each of these regions. Once you are done reading about all of them you can go on one of two missions - Help graph out weather patterns or pick the flora that would survive in each environment. In addition to this the site also offers a number of cool up-to-date graphics, which depict things like the levels of carbon monoxide on the planet, sea surface temperature, snow cover and other interesting phenomenon.

That's because all their stories, which include a mix of originals and classics, have a downloadable audio option. A great resource for when you are going on that long road trip with a younger sibling in tow. Also, since a new story is posted every month, there is always something new to read or download.

Geography4kids is a great website to learn about the earth - Things like our planet's structure, atmosphere, hydrosphere and even, biosphere. With quizzes on each page you can test your knowledge immediately and master this rather confusing topic in just a short time.

At first glance, this may appear to be a rather strange site, largely because it has three disparate components - Geography, math and money. However, each one of them is incredible. Click on the first one and you will be able to test your map knowledge either on a macro level, i.e. the entire world or on a country by country level. The math area, which is geared for younger students can be used to practice all facets of the subject either online or using printable worksheets. Lastly, there is the practical component - where you can learn all about money, with Farmer John by choosing one of the three different levels.
